Jim certainly made an impact on my life. He was a man that I trully respected and cared for. He did more for me than I could ever repay. From the bottom of my heart Jim, Marilyn and I will always remember you as a gracious, generous, thoughful and kind man. My life is better for having known you. You have left an imprint on my life. Thank you my good friend, I shall never forget you. With much love and admiration, your friend always, Robert Cavazos

Jim is likely the most revered maintenance person in our industry. I am honored to say Jim is a friend and colleague for over twenty years. Being with Jim would brighten anyone's day, even some old curmudgeons that we know. Every meeting or lunch or conversation was a mentoting session for me on how to be a friend with a positive attitude and, now and then a joke or two. Jim your memory will never fade in my lifetime.

To Jim:

Dear Jim;

First I want to apoligise for not being able to pass onto you my personal words of respect before your passing.

You see, I was just recently made aware of a request that all of your friends write down some words for you to read that would hopefully bring some happiness and comfort before your final journey.

Sadly I was shocked when I was informed that you had passed so suddenly.

In a way I can understand why the good Lord couldn't wait and called you so quickly. Based on what I have read here and what I have experienced myself, your warmth, intelligence, leadership and many other talents must have been needed for a much greater cause?

While I am sad about your passing I have to say that I couldn't think of a better person to set up our final meeting place!

Thank you Jim for all of the times you took out of your limited days to talk with and help me get thru those times of need!

All of us here will miss you and look forward to the day when we can meet again!

Your friend, Sam.

A Long Beach Transit Legend

A great man came to Long Beach Transit to enhance the life of every one at this company. His vision was not only Long Beach Transit, but every man, woman and child on this earth. One day his vision was noticed by a higher power and was recruited to continue managing future generations from above. Jim, you will live in our hearts for ever.

At work and play, Jim always kept things interesting. Jim had a way about him that made you want to be part of whatever he was doing. We were privileged to have spent time with Jim and his family. Jim will always be with us. Love you much. Roger & Jodi Winn

There are people in your life who come and go - that's just the way it works. Then there is someone like Jim Ditch. He makes one's life brighter, one's thoughts lighter. He lights up a room. He opens minds to new possibilities. He is a dear friend you want to have forever. We love you Jim - save a place for us at your table. Pam and Dave Barr
